Here’s the top positive review of Awaken The Giant Within from Amazon:

Tony Robbins exemplifies his life coach teaching styles in a way that empowers the reader to self fulfilment. This book forces you to conduct a reality check and take a hard look in the mirror.

It helps you to realize your flaws and “TAKE ACTION” and do something about it. After reading this book I was able to get out of my depression and stop blaming others for my pitfalls. I went from a 6 figure job to unemployed and almost losing my home. I moved in with my parents and that is when I bought this book.

Since then (2008) I have used the information towards my own benefit and accomplished things I never thought I could, money, happiness, health and the most important lesson was to slow down and enjoy everything I do. I hope you are able to grab the flame from this book and empower yourself with the use of wisdom Tony has put together.

Basic lesson is this: You are a reflection of all of your past thoughts and actions…but you are not your past…it’s all in your mind stuck leaving you in a rut and this book is the tow truck to help “you” get yourself out.

Here’s the top critical review of Awaken The Giant Within from Amazon:

I’m sure Tony would probably call me lazy but I found it to be a hard read. The content is great and works…but everything is broken down into several steps with several parts and kind of lost me.

He means well, and is very inspiring. The lives he’s helped change and empower is a blessing. I found that the law of attraction books were easier to grasp and yielded fast results. Try Abraham Hicks or The Secret.

You have more control over your life than you realize…you just need to step back and connect the dots. If you can hold it in your mind, you can hold it in your hand!

Here’s the top positive review of Unlimited Power from Amazon:

Learned so many useful skills.

The first part of the book about NLP I found really easy to understand but really complicated to apply successfully, but once I managed to make it work it has been amazing: it condition myself successfully out of stress, and also out of eating some unhealthy foods

The second part about life planning was insane: Made me sit down and get a really solid life plan. In 2 months I lost over 15 pounds, have been consistent in the gym, eating healthy, made new social circles and meaningful relationships, and a lot of things to come in the next 10 years.

Here’s the top critical review of Unlimited Power from Amazon:

I am a huge fan but this book just drags and seems to just keep promising of things to come… so you keep reading about what you are GOING to learn later — but my patience ran out. Felt like a long infomercial and I got tired of the lead up with nothing to actually sink my teeth in.

Tony Robbins Books #3: Tony Robbins’ Money: Master The Game

Tony Robbins’ Money: Master The Game Book

Amazon rating: 4.4 from 3,086 reviews
financial advisor

Here’s the blurb of Tony Robbins’ Money: Master The Game from Amazon:

Tony Robbins is one of the most revered writers and thinkers of our time. People from all over the world—from the disadvantaged to the well-heeled, from twenty-somethings to retirees—credit him for giving them the inspiration and the tools for transforming their lives.

From diet and fitness, to business and leadership, to relationships and self-respect, Tony Robbins’s books have changed people in profound and lasting ways. Now, for the first time, he has assembled an invaluable “distillation of just about every good personal finance idea of the last forty years” (The New York Times).

Based on extensive research and interviews with some of the most legendary investors at work today (John Bogle, Warren Buffett, Paul Tudor Jones, Ray Dalio, Carl Icahn, and many others), Tony Robbins has created a 7-step blueprint for securing financial freedom.

With advice about taking control of your financial decisions, to setting up a savings and investing plan, to destroying myths about what it takes to save and invest, to setting up a “lifetime income plan,” the book brims with advice and practices for making the financial game not only winnable—but providing financial freedom for the rest of your life. “Put MONEY on your short list of new books to read…It’s that good” (Marketwatch).

Here’s the top positive review of Tony Robbins’ Money: Master The Game from Amazon:

It’s over 600 pages so brace yourself. But this is probably one of the most important books I’ve ever purchased.

To really take on this material is to empower yourself. I highly recommend this, I’m so glad I bought it. This one is a keeper. I’ve read a lot of books on finances in my effort to become free, this is fast becoming my favorite.

I’ve been much more interested in spiritual development during my life and now have to catch up and work on the material foundation. This book is really well put together and exactly the kind of guidance anyone could use, no matter your level of financial literacy.

Highly recommend this: two thumbs up and five stars.

Here’s the top critical review of Tony Robbins’ Money: Master The Game from Amazon:

This guy likes to ramble on just to hear himself talk. He writes the same way he talks – says a bunch of things that sound good but most of it is impractical, incomplete, misleading, and at times, manipulative. The interviews included in the book were useless – nothing material or insightful.

One reviewer on here claimed Ch.2 and Ch.5 are worth both “their weight in gold” and the price of the whole book. Either this reviewer fails to understand what he reads or likes to dramatize insignificant chapters.

First, the interviews are cookie cutter questions and answers such as diversify, do not try to time the market, buy when the market is cheap, and hold for the long term. All of this is general advice that is mostly unhelpful when you sit down and try to apply the advice in real life.

Further, this same reviewer claims “he cannot believe” the chapter that discloses Ray Dalio’s All Weather allocation. First, just like he generally discloses in this book, Ray Dalio has publicly disclosed his All Weather’s general asset allocation (just search the web): about 40% long-term bonds, 15% intermediate bonds, 7.5% gold, 7.5% commodities, 30% stocks.

Moreover, generally disclosing the asset classes fails to disclose the most important part: what specific assets to purchase? Which bonds? 10 year? 30 year? Which commodities? Corn? Wheat? Copper? Crush? Lumber? Even if you decide which commodities, then how do you invest – futures? ETFs? mutual funds?

Even if you decide how to invest, which specific future period, or which specific ETF? So you see Ray Dalio does not give away the secret sauce to his $180B+ All Weather Fund.

If you want advice on how to manage your money then go directly to the source – listen to Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger, Paul Tudor Jones (& yes, I know this guy gives therapeutic counseling to Paul), Stanley Druckenmiller, Joel Greenblatt, George Soros (minus his insider trading), Jim Rogers (more of a 10+ year, long term, investor), Peter Lynch, and Ray Dalio – just to name a few.

Here’s the top positive review of Unshakable: Your Financial Freedom Playbook from Amazon:

There are a few books that I have read, and even before I finished them, realized that they changed something significant about my life. Unshakeable: Your FInancial Freedom Playbook by Tony Robbins is one of those.

It wasn’t that the principles here are new to me. The concepts are actually pretty simple to grasp.

Don’t operate out of fear, or invest according to emotion. Make your decisions based on logic.
Invest for the long term. Compounding interest always wins.
Minimize tax liability and fees.
Diversify to protect yourself when down times come.
Invest more when everything is on sale.
Rebalance your investments, preferably annually.

Just because I shared these basic highlights does not mean you do not need to read the book. Far from it. They absolutely mean you need to read it, because all of the principles in the list make sense, and you can know you should do them, but unless you know how, that knowledge is useless.

You could flounder about on your own: I have done so most of my life. You can remake the mistakes others have made, and learn on your own. But that will be (and has been) an expensive choice.

You can sit on the sidelines, living in fear and keeping your assets and investments in cash rather than getting into investing at all. This is the surest way to lose, especially with today’s low interest rates.

Or you can instead learn from the masters. Read Tony’s book and not only will you learn from him, but you will learn from those he has known and worked with, some of the wealthiest and most successful investors on the planet. You will also learn how to choose a financial advisor of your own, where to set up your retirement funds and how, and even more.

I can’t say enough about this book, but I can’t leave the review without talking about the final chapter, something I have been talking about and trying to master the last few years. Tony tells you of his journey and gives you his advice about how to be personally wealthy–in a beautiful state rather than a suffering state no matter what your circumstances.

This takes a disciplined mind, and it is only a disciplined mind that will follow the advice outlined in this book. The biggest obstacle to your success in any area is you, and this book will teach you how to overcome that in more than just your finances.

Five stars. Well done. Well edited and written. If you don’t read another book about building wealth and finances this year, make reading this one a top priority. You won’t regret it.

Here’s the top critical review of Unshakable: Your Financial Freedom Playbook from Amazon:

This book has some good advice for novice investors – mainly that they should be investing. And it goes on to say that index funds are a good investment vehicle for most people. Agreed. And I’ve liked Tony Robbins’ materials in the past; Power Talk II specifically.

But I think Mr. Robbins has changed since those early, eager, idealistic, hopeful days. Now he seems more like an infomercial salesman to me. He’s pitching the Creative Planning company and strongly suggesting his readers use that company for their financial planning.

I signed up for their services, and they lost $25,000 of my money in two weeks. Granted, there was a market downturn, but their investment choices have not bounced back as quickly as the market itself. I fired Creative and am now investing in index funds at Vanguard.

I wish I’d saved the money I spent on the book, and especially on hiring this firm – who by the way, still gets paid even when they fail miserably. Invest on your own and don’t listen to Tony Robbins anymore – unless you go for the old Tony Robbins stuff when he was still for real.

What Is The Best Tony Robbins Book To Start With?

That really depends on which part of your life you’re trying to improve. As a general rule of thumb though, we recommend starting with Unlimited Power.

Why Unlimited Power? Well, it’s focused largely on mindset, while the other books are more focused on tactics and strategies (to make money, improve relationships, etc).

Once you have the right mindset, as Tony says, everything else is just mechanics.

What Books Does Tony Robbins Recommend?

Tony Robbins says he’s read more than 10,000 books in his life, so it’s fair to say he’s well read. Here are the top 6 books Tony Robbins recommends everyone reads:

Principles by Ray Dalio
Tribe of Mentors by Tim Ferriss
A Mind at Home With Itself by Byron Katie
As a Man Thinketh by James Allen
The TB12 Method by To Brady
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
